Better Food scheme re-imagines loyalty card

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Sep 16, 2020

Better Food are creating a retail buzz with their latest eco-innovation. The Bristol organic retailer is rewarding customers for cutting their packaging. Better Food’s Bee Better scheme has transformed loyalty cards rewarding repeat consumption with a new incentive to reduce waste.

Free drinks to reward BYO bags and jars
Customers who join the initiative collect reward stamps each time they fill their own containers. A single shopping trip at Better Food could fill a whole card with stamps. The scheme can be used for wholefoods, frozen foods, teas, spices, cleaning products plus food and drink from their three organic cafés. One card, filled with twelve stamps, earns a free organic hot drink, either in-house or to take out.

Cutting waste further
To cut waste further they use a virtual app to deliver the loyalty ‘card’. Customers just download the Magic Stamp app to collect the reward stamps.

Managing Director, Gene Joyner, comments, ‘With the Bee Better scheme, we really hope to show that we can all make a positive impact when we shop. We encourage more customers to come on that sustainable journey with us. The scheme aims to treat both customers and the planet kindly. We hope to influence other retailers to trial more responsible loyalty schemes such as this.’

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

#ContactlessCoffee
Better Food was the first café in the UK to pioneer the #ContactlessCoffee initiative earlier this year.  The City to Sea campaign encouraged cafés to accept reusable coffee cups during the lockdown.

Better Food’s customers saved over 150,000 pieces of packaging in just six months. Bee Better continues this work to be kind to the planet.

Better Food pride themselves on stocking local, organic, ethically sourced products. Also being a force for good in their community.
