Bristol Giving Day

By Beth Owen  Tuesday Jul 23, 2019

On 9 October the Bridges Challenge will take place, offering a day of outdoor fun and fundraising.

For 30 years the Quartet Community Foundation has been supporting small charities and community work.

Better Business member, Quartet Community Foundation, hope to fund raise with local businesses and grow Bristol’s reputation for inspiring generosity.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

The aim for the day is simple, 45 bridges supporting 45 causes. Discover the maritime history of Bristol by walking, cycling or running one of six routes being offered in a bid to cross as many bridges as you can.

Last years event was a huge success

The hope is to get as many businesses involved as possible and to encourage some healthy competition between colleagues to achieve their fundraising target of £45,000. PwC and Burges Salmon, both Better Business members, are key sponsors of the event.

Jeff Lucas, author of From Brycgstow to Bristol in 45 Bridges has provided inspirational images and wording to accompany the routes.

Every person who completes a route is awarded a certificate to acknowledge their achievement.

This year’s event has been inspired by the Bristol Bridges Walk, which, in total, is a 45km walk that takes you across all of Bristol’s 45 bridges that span its main waterways.

Your donation of £1 per person per bridge crossed will help 45 small, local causes continue their charitable work in Bristol.
