Develop Me
Develop Me is a tech career accelerator that provides commercially-focussed courses to enable people to launch, or enhance, their careers in tech.
The core learning programme is the The Coding Fellowship, a 12 week full-time web development bootcamp. Develop Me also offers part-time courses and develops bespoke training to upskill company teams.
Develop Me was founded by Bristol based technical director Oli Ward, and digital recruiter Pete New, with a focus on ensuring that people have access to up-to-date digital training, delivered by industry experts to advance their careers in tech.
Oli Ward co-founder explains: “As the head of a technical department I’ve experienced first-hand how acutely difficult it is to find quality individuals to hire to address the technical talent needs of a growing company.
“It’s an issue that everyone is talking about across the region, and so we decided to try to do something about it.”
The company is now based at Paintworks and continues to offer more programmes to support learners’ tech careers and develop businesses digital skills.
Al Kennedy Director adds: “We believe very strongly that nobody should get ‘left behind’ in this new economy and with this in mind we fully support B24/7’s ‘Better Bristol’ initiative to help build a progressive network in the city to foster positive social change – with technology and digital skills education playing a key role in this transformation.
“Talent is equally distributed but opportunity is not – so integral to our social business model is the creation of our ‘Opportunity Fund’ and our partnership with EdAid enabling us to design opportunities and provide access to training for people who are underrepresented in the tech industry.”
