National Friendly joins the Better Business Network

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Feb 22, 2022

National Friendly is proud to announce its new membership of Bristol 24/7’s Better Business network.

Based in the centre of Bristol on Queen Square, National Friendly is a proud mutual, specialising in health and protection insurance for the over 50s. Founded over 153 years ago, the company’s aim is to help its 36,000 plus members prepare for life’s contingencies.

The mutual approach appeals to customers looking to provide solutions for themselves and their family that will serve them well in the future. They tend to be looking for long-term, not short-term financial relationships and value a company with credibility and longevity that doesn’t have to satisfy shareholders.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

As well as our main insurance and savings business, the Society also owns an independent financial advisory company, National Friendly Financial Solutions. Their team of qualified independent financial advisors provides specialist telephone financial advice, covering areas such as pension and retirement planning, tax-efficient investments, savings, trust and estate planning, care options, will writing and life and private health cover.

We are strong believers in the idea of supporting the local community where our staff live and work. National Friendly can point proudly to a long track record of supporting Bristol charities. These include Children’s Hospice South West, SW Cystic Fibrosis, St Mungo’s and Southmead Hospital Charity. Each year, our staff raise substantial amounts of money, matched by the company. This makes a real difference to the organisations we support and provides much-needed support for the vulnerable in our community.

Insurance and charity are key areas of support at a time when we need it most.

National Friendly’s Head of Sales & Marketing, Oliver Jones commented, “Joining Bristol 24/7’s Better Business network is a logical extension of our local commitment to Bristol and complements the charitable work we do in the community. We are looking forward to adding our resources to the local business community and offering our help wherever it is needed.”
