Travelwest
Travelwest is the one-stop website for travel information in the West of England, providing information on public transport, walking, cycling, car sharing and electric vehicles as well as providing useful resources for schools, businesses and developers. Travelwest works across the 4 West of England authorities; Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, and Bath and North East Somerset.
Travelwest’s Business Engagement Team in Bristol are funded through the Department for Transport’s Access Fund up until March 2021, and work closely with businesses in Bristol to identify improvements in how their staff travel to work, and for work. The ultimate goal of the team is to increase the number of people walking, cycling, using public transport, and car-sharing in the city. The project has been running for over 10 years and has worked with over 450 businesses, including key employers in the city.

- Workplace Travel Audits – a look at your existing facilities and travel policy helps the team to generate a bespoke report identifying quick wins and longer term improvements
- Travel to Work Survey – this provides an annual data set for your business that can be used to make year on year comparisons on how your staff travel
- Electric bike loans – 3 month loans for a business to trial an e-bike
- 50% match funded grants – for sustainable travel initiatives
- Champion scheme – to encourage peer led support and sharing of resources
- Seasonal Challenges – an annual calendar of events
- Love to Ride – A recent addition to Bristol’s offers, businesses can sign up to encourage cycling to their staff
- Join my Journey – a journey sharing platform for car sharing or those wanting company walking and cycling
- Dr Bike/ bike maintenance sessions – have your staff’s bikes serviced for free, or have a mechanic teach them on how to look after their own bikes
- Staff Engagement Events – information, advice, maps, leaflets and freebies from our expert travel advisers
