Stylemongers Of Bristol joins the Better Business network

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Dec 20, 2022

Stylemongers Of Bristol is an award-winning interior design studio that takes an anti-fashion approach to design. Instead, it focusses on style, longevity and a sense of story.

Working with homeowners and small businesses to create spaces with soul, Stylemongers Of Bristol facilitates people in doing their own interior design projects by teaching face-to-face workshops, an online course, and selling budget-friendly DIY interior design kits.

Based in Hamilton House on Stokes Croft, Stylemongers Of Bristol might be a boutique practice but it has big intentions, supporting homelessness charity Crisis UK with donations from certain sales using the Work For Good platform.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

Sustainability is a priority for founder Zoe Hewett, a former set and costume designer for theatre, who is growing a forest with regular tree planting through Bristol based organisation Ecologi.

Zoe appeared on two series of the BBC programme ‘My Unique B&B’, designing interiors for unusual rural glamping getaways ranging from treehouses and tiny huts to yurts and canal boats, and even an upside-down fibreglass sonar hub from a destroyer warship.

The show emphasised the value of repurposing found objects and up-cycling furniture, which meant going back to her scenic art roots and getting hands on with crafting methods like printing, quilting, gilding, weaving, plaster casting, angle grinding and more, to give each project something individual and special.

Zoe said she is “really excited” to join the Better Business network. She said: “Its values align with my own. I strongly believe that while we improve our own homes it is imperative that we help others to find and keep theirs, and the only way I can do that is by growing my business so I can continue supporting Crisis UK and get those donations up to more meaningful amounts.

“I’m also looking forward to meeting more local independent businesses as it is always interesting, and you never know if there might be scope for collaborating on interesting design projects.”
