Yuup joins the Better Business network
Local experiences start-up Yuup, known for enabling positive social impact, has joined Bristol 24/7’s Better Business network – a network that helps businesses thrive whilst working towards initiatives that better the city and the people that live there.
Generating over £850,000 of income for Bristol locals and small businesses since its launch in September 2020, Yuup is dedicated to helping build vibrant and resilient communities through alternative revenue streams generated by experiences.
Yuup provides people with a marketplace platform that helps them find new and exciting local things to do, whilst generating sustainable income and employment for indie businesses and side hustlers that give their home city a unique identity.
Since its launch in late 2020, Yuup has sold over 32,000 experiences and has a community of over 30,000 people.

Yuup is an active member of the local business community in Bristol, Bath, and now Birmingham. You may have noticed Yuup supporting some of Bristol’s favourite independent businesses (Prior Shop, KASK Wine, Nadu, The Cider Box, SUP Bristol to name but a few) and grassroots charity campaigns such as The MAZI Project, Belly Laughs, and Cook for Ukraine.
Since its launch Yuup has:
- Helped generate £850,000 income for independent small businesses and has helped many “side hustlers” turn their passion into a career supporting diversity within the leisure, hospitality, and tourism industry.
- Helped create multiple new enterprises, many of which are ethical and sustainable businesses.
- Continued to surpass Yuup’s ambition to recruit 20 per cent of hosts from the most deprived communities within cities where Yuup is present. Currently, 26 per cent of Bristol’s trading Yuup hosts (as of 30 June) are based within these communities.
- Entered partnerships with multiple grassroots charities that support marginalised young people, support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, tackle food poverty and much more. These partnerships have generated over £60,000 for local charities.
- Provided an income-generating platform for Knowle West Media Centre’s ‘Creative Enterprise Support Programme’.
- Enabled indie businesses to make operational savings by adopting Yuup’s direct booking technology.
- Created a community of venues, vendors, hosts, and charities that can connect and support each other with their respective businesses.

Dominic Mills, Yuup’s founder, says Yuup has become a member of Bristol 24/7’s Better Business network in order to connect with like-minded businesses.
“Creating communities which have a positive social impact is one of the core values of Yuup, so being part of a network of enterprises that use business to benefit local communities is a must.
“With the Better Business network we stand alongside other organisations that strive to make Bristol a better place for all.
“This network is about exchanging ideas, collaborating, and turning ideas into actions that make positive social change for the people of Bristol. It’s about inclusivity and providing support or opportunity. That’s really at the core of Yuup and what Yuup strives to achieve and we’re delighted to be part of a community that shares the same passions as us.
“We look forward to the conversations, collaboration, and positive action this membership will bring.”
