Bristol Computer Reuse offers access to low-cost computers
Computers are a vital communication tool and offer access to information on everything from shop opening times to travel details, study and entertainment. It’s getting harder to live without a computer in the home as more companies expect us to pay bills and make transactions online. For people struggling to manage on low income the cost of buying a PC is just too high. Now people in Bristol are being offered the chance to have their own home computer, and gain access to the internet, with a low cost, reliable, refurbished PC.
The new project offers good quality, refurbished computers from just £50, to households that might not otherwise be able to own one. This is run by a Bristol company Byteback IT Solutions, in partnership with Bristol City Council. It is open to a wide range of Bristol residents on lower incomes or with other disadvantages – so it’s worth checking to see if you qualify. The aim is that no-one in Bristol will miss out on the benefits of being digitally connected. From young mums to people with a disability, full time carers to OAPs.
Customers can visit the shop to for advice and to have a “try before they buy”. It’s also the best way to get installation, start up and operating questions answered. Byteback can deliver directly to a customer’s home for just £10.

Byteback help people with all levels of computer expertise get the most from their equipment. They are experienced in helping people get started who have not used a computer before. They advise on set up and operation and on computer security. They also offer follow up phone advice on any technical queries for up to 3 months following purchase.
Apply for a low cost Windows 7 computer
This citywide project offers great value, low cost, refurbished computers (plus some laptops) available to individuals and families. All equipment supplied through the project has a 6 month hardware warranty, with telephone support and advice. Peripherals and upgrades are also available.
Computer systems start from as little as £50 for 2GB RAM and laptops are available from £99.00.
4GB RAM and a 17” screen is available at £65 and with a 19” screen at £75
Would you qualify for a £50 computer?
The computers are available for all Bristol residents to apply – priority will be given to – Low income individuals / families, people in receipt of benefits, over 65’s, disabled people, full-time carers, those with children in receipt of free school meals.
