These are the highest paying tech jobs in Bristol

By Aphra Evans  Monday Jul 10, 2017

Adzuna, a national job site, has revealed which tech jobs in Bristol have the highest number of live vacancies, and which are the highest paid.

The data taken from live job advertisements shows that IT is the highest paying sector of 2017 in the UK, with Bristol jobs in the sector paying well above the national average salary.

The highest paid job title in Bristol is data architect, with an average salary of £71,990, followed by technical lead (£58,594), systems engineer (£51,918), Python developer (£51,786) and product manager (£51,204).

These figures are certainly attractive when set against the average salary advertised on job vacancies in the UK, which is £32,567.

In terms of vacancies, Bristol most needs systems engineers, as shown by the highest number of live vacancies (104) which, on average, advertise a salary of £51,918. In second place comes IT manager, for which there are 69 live vacancies in Bristol, and an average salary of £42,158.

Following these roles, the most in-demand job titles are product manager (48 live vacancies), data analyst (43), and python developer (19).

Bristol’s needs differ dramatically to the landscape nationwide, however, where data scientists (948 live vacancies), python developers (834), technical leads (782) and cloud engineers (465) are in short supply.

The figures change again for South West England, where employers are chiefly looking for systems engineers; the region counts 285 live vacancies for this role with an average salary of £46,655. Close behind systems engineers in terms of demand are IT managers, with 193 vacancies advertised with an average salary of £44,914, and product managers, with 132 vacancies for an average offering of £47,863.
