Applications open for Tech Nation’s growth programmes
Ambitious tech entrepreneurs are invited to apply for one of three prestigious growth programmes focused on cultivating the next generation of leaders in the sector.
Tech Nation has announced applications are open for Future Fifty, Upscale, and Rising Stars, bespoke courses available for UK companies at each stage of the scale-up process, which provide access to networks and investors, tips for hiring top talent, and international expansion.
“The South West is building some of the most exciting tech companies in the world,” said Vicky Hunter, South West entrepreneur engagement manager for Tech Nation.
“Companies like Graphcore are putting the South West on the global tech map, while Tech Nation programme alumni such as Prezola, MoveGB, and Crowdcube are well on their way to being household names.
“Rising Stars, Upscale and Future Fifty offer tailored advice and support for companies at key inflection points of their growth journey. This is a brilliant opportunity for any startup or scale-up from the South West to join a powerful network of peers and connect with experts from across the country, and I’d love to see strong representation from the region in the upcoming cohorts.”

Tech Nation, a UK-wide network for tech entrepreneurs, says scale-up deals delivered 80 per cent of all tech investments in the UK in 2018.
Parveen Dhanda, head of growth programmes for Tech Nation, said: “The UK tech ecosystem has evolved substantially in recent years.
“For the UK to maintain its status as a scale-up nation, it needs to continue to cultivate the next generation of tech leaders.”
Future Fifty enters its eighth year of helping support late-stage tech businesses and is seeking 25 companies seeking to achieve global ambitions.
Upscale, designed for mid-stage companies, will support 30 of the UK’s most innovative and fastest-growing tech companies to accelerate their growth.
Rising Stars is a national startup competition that brings together fledging companies, which are supported through the application process before a grand final, where the best 20 will pitch to a panel of high-profile judges, in front of investors and industry peers, for the chance to be named as one of Tech Nation’s ten Rising Stars 2.0.
