Bristol agency wins award for Lidl packaging

Creative agency Design Activity has scooped a prestigious Pentaward, recognising worldwide excellence in packaging design, for label designs that you may well have stumbled across in your weekly shop.

The Wick-based creatives took the silver award for their work on Lidl’s Hatherwood craft beers range where each bottle has a distinctive illustration and its own typographic style printed on uncoated paper “to give an artisanal feel”. 

“We recognised the need for a radical design approach for Hatherwood Craft Beer,” says Lidl brand manager Shelley Green. “The chosen design has a very distinctive style and identity which we feel is a great representation of what a crafted ale range should look like. We have achieved strong sales growth since launch and we’re delighted that the quality of the design has been recognised by a Pentaward.”
