Wriggle raises ?380k & launches first website
Bristol-born start-up company Wriggle blasted through its crowdfunding goals, raking in a total of £380,000 in investments, hitting 112 per cent of their initial objective.
The King Street-based business have also released a new website – until now, Wriggle has only been available via a mobile app.
Wriggle provides virtual coupons for independent restaurants, cafes and entertainment establishments around Bristol.
The app lets businesses discount their empty tables to compete with the low cost options at chain restaurants, cafes and bars.
The app features 250 independent establishments, including No Man’s Grace, Small Street Espresso, Pata Negra, Small Bar, the Old Vic and the Watershed, and has been downloaded 40,000 times.
Local venues have benefited significantly – the company estimates that it brought its partners 18,000 new customers since Wriggle began in 2014.
“The response to Wriggle’s crowdfunding round has been amazing,” says Rob Hall, founder of Wriggle.
“We’ve come a long way in just under two years, and we’ve got big plans for the next few years – starting with this beautiful new website and making Wriggle available to as many people as possible.”
