Bristol’s OVO Energy gains top employer title

By Ellie Pipe  Monday Feb 5, 2018

Already known for its distinctive foliage-coated frontage, cool office space and ethical credentials, OVO Energy has now gained a top employer status.

The fast-growing national company, that first launched in Bristol in 2012 and now has offices near Temple Meads and in London, has been recognised for its commitment to employee development opportunities and working conditions.

Toast for breakfast, parties and flexible hours are just some of the perks that helped OVO achieve the Top Employers Certificate 2018, following a rigorous judging process.

Libby Townsend, HR director at OVO Energy, said: “We strive to create a dynamic and values-led work culture.

“We offer leadership and coaching qualifications to staff through OVO University (an ILM accredited centre), flexi-time for non-customer facing staff, well being support via an external partner and more – including twice yearly parties to thank staff for their hard work.

“It is these unique offerings that make OVO Energy a great place to work, which in turn attracts great people who deliver the best for customers.”

The global certification assesses employers on workplace initiatives such as planning, talent strategy, learning and development, performance management and culture.

OVO Energy has been recognised as a top employer

“Their employee benefits are amazing and they have really helped to nurture my personal career growth in the role.”

David Plink, CEO of Top Employers Institute said research concluded the company provides an outstanding employment environment and offers a wide range of creative initiatives.
