Burges Salmon named one of The Times Top 50 Employers for Women
A law firm headquartered in Bristol has made it to this year’s list of The Times Top 50 Employers for Women.
Burges Salmon has made gender equality in the workplace a priority, something which was recognised particularly amid the pandemic.
Whilst the impacts of the pandemic have often heightened inequalities, it has also provided opportunities for employers to address the challenges that women face – through introducing flexible working and shared parental leave.
Employers at Burges Salmon were quick to recognise and implement family-friendly policies as staff have been largely working from home over the past year.
Also on this year’s list were employers such as Deloitte, Morgan Stanley and Tesco.
Burges Salmon’s Managing Partner, Roger Bull, commented on the achievement: “Our recognition in the 2021 The Times Top 50 Employers for Women is a great achievement for the firm, particularly given the level of competition this year.
“Diversity and inclusion are of paramount importance to our firm-wide strategy and in 2020 we established our Gender Action Plan which was developed following consultation with our people and is being driven by our senior leadership team.”
“This underpins our commitment to ensuring our female colleagues can see demonstrable evidence of a clear route to senior roles within the business, equality in terms of pay and recognition, and a strong support network within the firm to help facilitate this,” he added.
