Business rivals to clash heads in the name of charity
Teams from across a number of business sectors are set to come head-to-head in a charity tag rugby tournament.
The business community will be swapping the workplace for the rugby field, all to raise money for Bristol Bears Community Foundation.
The funds raised will allow the Bristol Bears‘ charity to continue delivering a range of programmes in education, participation, health, and inclusion in and around the city.
The tournament will see 36 teams from across the property and construction, finance and legal, and business service sectors come together to compete in seven-a-side matches.

Bristol Bears Community Foundation staff have teamed up with design and build specialists Paramount to make the annual fundraising competition possible.
The games are set to take place over three days at Lockleaze Sports Centre before heading to Ashton Gate Stadium for the grand finals.
Bristol Bears Community Foundation development manager, Craig Capel said: “The money raised by our friends in the business world will support the valuable work we do across communities in the South West.
“This popular tournament is designed to be fun and inclusive first and foremost, but with a competitive edge and we’re hoping that companies across the South West will join us to raise vital funds for a great cause.
“Every penny raised will help us make sure that the power of rugby is used to support the most disadvantaged members of our communities and engage children from the age of five to people as old as 103.”
Paramount staff are confident the competition will build on the success of its 2022 ‘Paramount Property Tag Rugby Tournament’, which saw 150 players put commercial rivalries to one side to raise £3,000 for the Foundation.
Business leaders still have time to sign up for this year’s tournament, which will take place on:
- March 16 (property and construction teams)
- March 30 (legal and finance teams)
- April 20 (business services teams)
- May 3 (the finals)
For a chance to take part, you can email Sulli Gardner at register@paramountinteriors.com
The deadline for entries is February 22.
