Energising treats from from local energy company
Bristol-based energy auto-switching service, Flipper, recently joined up with local radio station Sam FM to give out free energy-boosting treats to the people in the city.
Flipper were the UK’s first auto-switching service and they’ve been looking after people’s energy bills, automatically finding and switching them to the best deals since 2016, and are a Better Business member.
Flipper handed out over 1,000 free ‘energy boosting treats’, from free coffees at Boston Tea Party to bananas, energy bars, pastries and pizza.

Flipper’s managing director Mark Guttridge said: “It was great to get a chance to speak to so many people from Bristol, both homeowners and renters, and talk about who their energy supplier was, when they last switched and if they had heard about auto-switching.”
The team were concerned to learn that most people couldn’t remember the last time they had switched energy supplier. Most worrying, however, was the number of people who knew they could save money by switching but found looking for deals “boring” and “confusing”.

Unlike their competitors, Flipper charge their members a small annual fee so that they can provide a true auto-switching service. Members save an average of £385 a year after their first switch.
Signing up to Flipper is easy, just taking a few minutes to enter a few details, then Flipper finds the best deal. The company manage the whole switch and continue to check suppliers every month for the best deal. It’s also possible to tailor results by excluding suppliers and selecting only green energy suppliers.
