HAB crowdfunder reaches £1.3m in first week
Architecture company HAB Land – Happiness Architecture Beauty – has reached £1.3m of its £3m crowdfunding campaign within a week of launching.
HAB Land plans to use the fund to finance land acquisition and site development opportunities, offering a five-year mini-bond with CODE Investing, at 8 per cent AER.
The company, established by Kevin McCloud and headquartered next to Temple Mead, was established in 2007 to challenge the way identikit volume housing is built in the UK. The homes and places they build aim to respect the local context and environment, look beautiful, and boast strong sustainability credentials.
“To see the level of interest and commitment from like-minded investors in our crowd fund has been excellent,” said chairman Kevin McCloud. “It is clear that our passion for sustainable living, great design and building communities has real resonance. Whilst our initial fund raise level has been met, there is plenty more opportunity for others to invest as we seek to crowd fund £3 million.”
The bond offer is open until March 15 with a minimum investment of £1,000.
