Jolly Hog becomes first meat brand in UK to become a B Corp
B Corps are companies across the world that are recognised as having the highest standards for social corporate responsibility.
The Jolly Hog is the latest Bristol organisation to be classified as a B Corp, joining a growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit.
Based in Wapping Wharf, the family-owned business began on the kitchen table of injured professional rugby player Olly Kohn when his wife bought him a sausage making machine.
The Jolly Hog – whose products are stocked in supermarkets across the UK, and also owns Pigsty restaurant in Wapping Wharf – has now become the first meat brand in UK to become a B Corp.
Co-founder Olly said that becoming a B Corp “feels like a real milestone”.

Olly said: “Four years ago when we first thought about applying it felt like a natural fit for us to help shape the way we run our business.
“Max, Josh and I are extremely proud to be the first UK meat business to be a B Corp.
“As a family company based in Bristol, it’s always been deeply ingrained in us to be doing the right thing by our team, our consumers and our planet.
“This doesn’t mean we are perfect or better than anyone else it just means that we are genuinely trying to be better as a company for everyone involved.”
