King St to host financial technology seminar
Bespoke software development consultancy Scott Logic is to host an evening of informal Tech Talks in Bristol on May 23. The free event, hosted at the software consultancy’s offices on King Street, will see two of the company’s most experienced technologists to speak on a range of subjects, followed by a networking event.
Chris Price (pictured), a Technical Architect based at the company’s Newcastle office, will introduce Blockchain, providing insight into the origins of Bitcoin and how the technology works at Scott Logic and beyond, as well as looking into what the future may hold for Blockchain-based technologies.
Chris Smith, a Bristol-based Lead Developer who co-founded the Bristech Meetup group and its annual conference, will then talk about continuous delivery, which is the process of building software in such a way that it can be released to production at any time. This talk will show how Scott Logic has been using both continuous integration and continuous delivery processes and tooling, as well as cloud infrastructure.
Scott Logic’s Bristol head of development Nic Hemley, said: “I am really pleased to be opening our doors and inviting people to join us for two quality Tech Talks.
“The diversity of topics will hopefully appeal to a wide range of developers and also be of interest to those curious about a possible career in the Fintech industry. This is the first time Scott Logic has held such an event in Bristol and if successful, will no doubt become a firm fixture in our events calendar.”
