New office block for Temple Quarter
Outline planning consent conceptually agreeing development has been granted for The Anvil, a new office building in the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone.
The building on Avon Street, behind Temple Meads station, will provide 83,223 sq ft of grade A office accommodation over seven floors with wellbeing at the heart of its design. Entrance will be via a ‘pocket park’ and landscaped roof terraces will offer panoramic city views. Onsite renewable energy generation, undefined measures to reduce CO2 emissions, electric car-charge points and 105 bike spaces with cycling facilities will fulfil sustainability criteria.
Developer Linkcity anticipates that building work will begin in the second half of 2017, with completion scheduled for early 2019. Full planning permission will be sought in early 2017 and will incorporate feedback from early occupiers.
Linkcity’s senior development officer Charles Parry, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning consent for this new development which, we believe, will set a new benchmark for quality in the central Bristol office market. Occupiers now have certainty of delivery and the opportunity to influence the detailed design and specification.”
