One million rides made on Voi e-scooters in West of England
Voi says its e-scooters have now clocked up one million rides in the West of England.
The coral-coloured scooters, which are part of a trial by the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), were introduced in Bristol in October 2020 and have been rolled out across the city.
They are estimated to have saved 370,000 car trips in the region, reducing over 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Jack Samler, general manager at Voi UK and Ireland, said: “People in the West of England have embraced Voi’s e-scooters, whether it’s for riding to work, running errands or visiting friends and family.
“At Voi, we are delighted to continue to work with the West of England Combined Authority, ensuring everyone can benefit from the introduction of this safe and carbon-neutral mode of transport.
“E-scooters have the potential to change the way we move around our cities and towns, and our mission is to help to create cities that are better and healthier places to live.”

The e-scooters can also be hired long-term and free rides were offered to NHS staff and emergency workers during lockdown.
They cost £1 to unlock via the Voi app and then 20p for every minute they’re used.
The mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees has said that he expects them to become a “permanent feature” of the city.
