Shared commuting service Slide is one year old
Slide, Bristol’s shared commuting service, is celebrating its first birthday by giving away free ice cream from fellow Bristol startup Brozen to busy workplaces every lunchtime during their birthday week, starting on Monday, July 17.
Mysteriously, the company has not mentioned how or where the ice cream will appear, but it has asked Bristol workers to keep their “ice peeled”.
What’s more, each free ice cream will come with the chance to win a week’s free commuting, or a discounted or free ride.
If you sign up during the same week, there is a £10 bonus available if you download the app and tag @slidebristol on Twitter or Facebook with your name and the hashtag #HappyBirthdaySlide.
Slide launched last July as a solution to the bus and traffic woes of Bristol commuters; since then it has doubled the number of vehicles it has on the road and recently widened its catchment area to include Brislington, Knowle, Totterdown, Emerson’s Green, Downend, and Bromley Heath.
With an app that lets you track the location of your ride and pay for journeys cash-free, plus free Wi-Fi on board, it’s been a popular choice for many Bristolians who otherwise have to rely on infamously unreliable public transport.
Slide operates Monday to Friday from 6:30am until 10am and 4pm until 7:30pm and you can book by downloading the Slide Bristol app.
