Sharing economy grows with new borrowing app
A new app has launched in Bristol to allow users to borrow or rent out little-used items for a daily rate. Borrow-it lets users make money from spare tents, roof boxes, skis and carpet cleaners lying around in the shed, or rent the item for a fraction of the RRP.
Currently only available for iPhone, items are uploaded with a photo, description and daily charge and payment is transferred via PayPal before items are exchanged. Unique insurance is available to cover expensive items.
The brainchild of James Fuller who came up with the idea when he needed to borrow a phone charger while away from home, it is the latest addition to a growing sharing economy.
He commented: “The communal mentality and innovative approach of [Bristol’s] residents means it lends itself perfectly to Borrow-it community. We’re so excited for neighbours and locals to reconnect by sharing and saving resources using our app”.
