The free support for Bristol’s businesses
A new programme by YTKO is offering Bristol businesses and entrepreneurs help to recover from the impact of COVID-19, as well as one-to-one support.
The free North and East Bristol Enterprise Support (NEBES) programme offers online workshops and training on a wide variety of topics, such as building resilience, trading online, financial management, securing funding, marketing and social media.
NEBES, which is part of Universal Business Support, a West of England Combined Authority initiative, is delivered in partnership with Bristol City Council.
It was launched last year and hopes to work with over 2,800 businesses and residents – particularly focusing on underrepresented communities and deprived areas.
“It’s fantastic to see this type of support being made available to businesses, especially during what has been a very difficult time due to the pandemic,” said councillor Craig Cheney, who is the deputy mayor with responsibility for finance, governance and performance.

“NEBES delivers training and events via an award-winning support package and I urge Bristol businesses and entrepreneurs to seek out this free support programme to help with their recovery from the impact of COVID-19.”
“Bristol is a vibrant city full of innovative and resilient businesses who I know could really benefit from this additional support right now, and could also lead to new opportunities for both our businesses and our city.”
There is an option for two programmes, one of which focuses on start-ups and the other which is aimed towards established businesses who wish to grow.
Aliu Bello is the managing director of the Centre for Capacity Building & Enterprise Development. They partnered with NEBES to provide business support to his community in St. Pauls.
Aliu said: “We are delighted to have North & East Bristol Support as our valued partner, supporting our learners to gain practical support and the confidence to start their enterprise and self-employment journeys, contributing towards creating successful businesses in Bristol.”
