Winners of Bristol sustainable business awards announced
The pioneers and leading advocates for sustainable businesses in Bristol have been crowned at a special ceremony.
Future Leap‘s Sustainable Business Awards Ceremony celebrated businesses that are standing out as leaders in sustainability and are recognised for their contributions towards people, profit and the planet.
Addressing the event, councillor Kye Dudd, who heads up Bristol’s energy department, commented on the rapid progress of the city’s district heating system under the stewardship of Bristol City Leap and also the work undertaken by businesses across Bristol to help realise a more sustainable future.
The awards were presented under five categories and were sponsored by firms and individuals who are passionate about sustainable business practices:
- Social Sustainability (sponsored by TLT LLP)
- Innovation in Low Carbon Tech (sponsored by EQUANS)
- Biodiversity (sponsored by lawlight solicitors)
- Circular Economy and Waste (sponsored by Albert Goodman)
- Communicating the Climate and Ecological Emergency (sponsored by Rin Hamburgh & Co)

Among the noteworthy winners were the Bottle Yard Studios, who won an innovation in Low Carbon Tech award, and Oat Float who won an award in the Circular Economy and Waste category.
SWIG Finance won an award in the Social Sustainability category, while Belmont Estate was recognised for its tireless efforts in the Biodiversity category.
The final award for the night went to Avon Wildlife Trust under Communicating the Climate and Ecological Emergency category.
Bristol24/7 was also shortlisted for the award for its commitment to raising awareness on the ecological emergency.

Commenting on this year’s Future Leap‘s Sustainable Business Awards, Katherine Piper, director of partnerships and head of sustainability at Future Leap said: “The awards dinner was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate organisational action on sustainability.
