By Rachel Sutherland  Monday Dec 19, 2022

Work on a hotel and retail development is underway.

The multi-million pound project will bring a Premier Inn, Beefeater restaurant, Aldi superstore and a Costa Coffee drive-thru to North Bristol.

The new development, on the four-acre, greenfield site, is located on Fox Den Road in Stoke Gifford.

Alongside the five-storey Premier Inn, which will meet the BREEAM ‘very good’ standard for environmental and sustainability quality, a small public park and public art will also be installed.

Beard Bristol director, Matt Cooper, said: “We are very pleased to be delivering another significant, high-profile development for Baylis Estates. This project which will bring further accommodation, leisure and retail facilities to a thriving and fast-developing area of Bristol.

“Beard’s focus on quality of service and delivery, on maintaining good relationships with customers, contractors and the supply chain, as well as our experience in delivering prominent projects on greenfield sites will see us in good stead during this development.”

Beard constructed the 1,300-seater Planet Ice rink at Cribbs Causeway in 2021 for Baylis Estate.

The design work for the project on Fox Den Road has been carried out by Bristol-based Stride Treglown, project management is by JLL and the Waterman Group is carrying out the structural engineering.

The project is set to be complete by spring 2024.
