Bristol exec in running for director award
The commercial director of ecosurety, a resource efficiency company in Aztec West is in the running for the prestigious Institute of Directors (IoD) Young Director of the Year Award, presented to a director under the age of 42 able to point to outstanding achievements in the last 12 months.
28-year old James Piper from Patchway started at the resource efficiency company as a graduate trainee and has risen through the ranks, working in every department including marketing, sales and IT. In June he was named Young Director of the Year for the South West and will now compete against 12 other regions for the national crown, to be announced at the Lancaster London Hotel on October 21.
“I am bowled to have made it to the final of such a prestigious award,” said James. “To be among some of the leaders the biggest names in business in the UK is extremely humbling.
“I am very much looking forward to representing ecosurety on the national business stage later this year.”
Last year he helped drive ecosurety’s journey-share scheme joinmyjourney, which has now been taken up by a number of large city employers, including the city’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone (BTQEZ), home to more than 300 businesses, in addition to UWE, North Bristol NHS Trust, as well as at Aztec West business park, where ecosurety is based. He also lobbies the Government on waste issues, and oversees the company’s management and benefits structure.
