Bristol Everyman cinema to open on May 20
Bristol’s new Everyman cinema will open on May 20. The fully restored historic former ABC Whiteladies Road boasts three screens with comfy sofa/armchair seating throughout. The standard adult admission price will be £13.
Announcing the opening date in Bristol, Everyman CEO Crispin Lilly said: “For me, it’s about the magic and excitement of cinema – re-engaging with customers who’ve found that cinema has not grown up with them. The beauty of an Everyman experience is that we have the ambience, the atmosphere, the comfort, the sofas and the welcome of the staff. To put that back in to a beautiful building like this makes it complete.”
is needed now More than ever
The cinema’s manager, Greg Rhodes, who oversees 34 staff, added: “I’m just excited to see the finished article. The venue and the concept are amazing. I really want to share it with Bristol.”
The opening programme has not yet been confirmed, but it will include a party with live music on May 24 as part of the chain’s ongoing national Music-Film Festival.
