Mokoko to open on Gaol Ferry Steps

By Alison Maney  Tuesday Apr 19, 2016

Artisan bakery and coffee house Mokoko is due to open as early as June along the newly opened Gaol Ferry Steps within Wapping Wharf.

The new route opened to the public earlier this month creating a new pathway connecting south Bristol to the city centre.

Mokoko, a Bath-based independent business, aims to create an open-plan bakery with fresh bread and homemade cakes alongside speciality coffee.

“We are thrilled to be joining the new Wapping Wharf community,” says Jake Harris, founder and managing director at Mokoko. “When we heard about this new quarter at the very heart of the cultural and leisure hub of the city, and with a strong focus on independent food and drink, we knew it would be the perfect fit for us.”

Mokoko is the second cafe announced for Gaol Ferry Steps, joining Little Victories from the Small Street Espresso team. Also announced for Wapping Wharf is Cargo, a food and drink hub created out of converted shipping containers.
