Meera Sodha, Thali guest chef
Meera Sodha, author of bestselling cookbooks Made in India and Fresh India, will be a guest chef at Thali Cafe this summer.
Meera will contribute two new “from the grill” summer specials to the Thali menu which will be available starting on June 8.
The colourful specials are inspired by Bademiya, Bombay’s famous hidden food truck which attracts street cleaners and bankers alike.

Meera’s colourful dishes for Thali include Buttermilk Sigri Chicken, a rich and tangy take on Bademiya’s tandoori chicken, and Malai Paneer Tikka, coated in cashews, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom and cloves.
These dishes will join Thali Cafe’s dhaba (roadside cafe) menu and exemplify Meera’s creativity and dedication to her heritage.
To launch her new menu additions, Meera will hold an exclusive cookery demonstration and tasting for Thali Club subscribers at the Thali Cafe in Southville on June 8.
“As big fans of Made in India, we’re honoured to welcome Meera Sodha to the Thali team,” says Jim Pizer, founder of the Thali Cafe. “Meera is one of the most exciting voices in Indian food and we’re pleased to announce that our Sticky Mango Paneer recipe features in Meera’s new vegetarian cookbook Fresh India, which will be released in July 2016.”
