Bristol gymnast to star in Strictly
Olympic gymnast Claudia Fragapane, who trains at Hawks Gym in Easton, has signed up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The 18-year-old gymnast is the eleventh contestant to sign up, with other names including former shadow chancellor Ed Balls, pop star Will Young and model Daisy Lowe.
Claudia said: “I am a really big fan of Strictly Come Dancing and am so excited to be chosen to take part this year.

“I am used to performing in front of big crowds but this is going to be so different to my floor routines in gymnastics – but I love a challenge and performing! I also love dressing up and wearing sparkly costumes.”
Claudia competed for Team GB in Rio, where she was part of the team who came fifth in the women’s team all-round final.
She won four gold medals for England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, silver at last year’s European Championships and bronze in a team event at the 2015 World Championships.
