Show your support for the Colston Hall
You can help support the Colston Hall’s multi-million pound transformation scheme by pledging your support for Bristol’s most prestigious venue.
The aim of the hall’s new 45k for 45m campaign is a simple one – encouraging 45,000 people to sign-up and reveal the public support for the £45m plans which include not just revitalising their current two halls and opening a third but:
- constructing spaces for lifelong learning
- providing Bristol Plays Music with a new cultural base
- build fully accessible educational facilities
- providing a home for 30 music projects like Bristol Sings Music and the Remix Learning programme
- overhauling the backstage areas
- establishing a base for commercial enterprise start-ups
- create 50 new jobs
- opening up the byzantine colonnades on Colston Street and restoring the 150-year-old facade
You can help by liking or sharing using one of the Colston Hall’s social media channels, subscribing to their e-newsletter and promoting the campaign via your own social media channels.

“By reaching our target of 45,000 people, we’ll be able to show funders the passion and enthusiasm for our plans from our audience and supporters,” says Colston Hall’s chief executive Louise Mitchell.
Singer songwriter Tanya Lacey (pictured top) is a vocal backer of the campaign.
Tanya grew up in St Paul’s and has regularly performed in the main auditorium in orchestras when she was younger and with Bristol band Laid Blak, and most recently as a solo artist in The Lantern.
She said: “I have got quite an emotional attachment to the Colston Hall. It’s always been a significant place for me from a young age. They’ve always welcomed me with open arms.
“It’s still got so much potential. What it can do for young people who are inspired by music, who use music as an outlet. It will be a great feeling to cultivate that and grow that side of music in Bristol.”
