By Louis Emanuel  Wednesday May 4, 2016

Queen Square was cordoned off this morning after a violent robbery which left one man hospitalised.

The man was threatened on a park bench just after midnight on Wednesday before being assaulted.

Police said the man required hospital treatment and is now in the BRI, but details of his injuries have not been released.

The attacker is thought to have fled in the direction of Pitcher & Piano.

A police spokesperson said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help our enquiries.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Bristol Investigations on the non-emergency 101 police number and quote reference 5216095658.
