Westbury woman raises £400k to save husband
A Bristol woman’s campaign to save her husband’s life has raised more than £400,000 in less than nine days for him to receieve groundbreaking new treatment in America.
Kate Robertson, 33, from Westbury-on-Trym, launched a crowdfunding bid to send Mike Brandon, 31, to Pennsylvania to be part of a trial into revolutionary treatment to tackle his cancer.

The campaign was the second time Kate had sought help from the public to save her husbands life after she was faced with only 60 days to find a stem cell match for Mike after he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2014.
The latest #donate4mike campaign reached £400,000 on Friday, nine days after the crowdfunding bid was launched.
Kate thanked all donors for their help, adding that extra money raised with be donated to the hematology unit at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
She added: “Mike and I have been overwhelmed with the love and support we have received. With your help we now have hope.”
