Bristol illegal rave revellers charged

By Chris Brown  Monday Nov 3, 2014

Police say more than 1,000 people took part in the illegal rave on a Bristol industrial estate at the weekend.

Dubbed the ‘Ebola Ball’, revellers took over a unit at Avonside Industrial Estate, off Feeder Road on Saturday night.

The event was raided by officers, some of whom were in riot gear, in the early hours of Sunday. The operation to close the event did not end until about 10.30 on Sunday morning.

Videos of the event have now been posted on YouTube, with one showing a man being forcibly removed from a fence by police in riot gear.

Eight people were arrested on suspicion of a range of public order offences, two of whom were from Bristol. They were:

  • Nicholas John Daltrey, 29, of Knowle Road, has been charged with assaulting an officer in the execution of his/her duty, being drunk and disorderly in a public place and obstructing/resisting an officer in the execution of duty;
  • Lora Emily Stevens, 22, of Park Road, Warmley, has been charged with two counts of assaulting an officer in the execution of his/her duty.

Sophie Grey, 22, of Langovan, Monmouth, was also charged with assaulting an officer, while five men aged 17, 19, 21, 24 and 27 have all been charged.

Detective Inspector Dom Graham said: “Our investigations are well underway and we are currently piecing together all of the intelligence we have gathered.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have information on the organisation of the event and any information on any planned in the future.”
