DI Steve Cartlidge said: “It’s been more than week now since anyone has seen or heard from Deakon and we’re increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“As part of our inquiry we have been talking to his friends and associates, carrying out a physical search of the area where he was last seen, including the water surrounding Motion, while we’re also reviewing a significant amount of CCTV footage.
“We are committed to doing everything we can to find Deakon and are keeping an open mind as to his whereabouts.
“I’d like to appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw Deakon in the early hours of 14 January and who hasn’t already made contact with us to get in touch.
“I’d also like to appeal directly to Deakon – if you see this, please let us or your family know you are safe, everyone is very worried about you.
“Deakon’s family are being kept fully informed with our inquiry and we are providing them with support.”
