Bristol libraries ‘saved from closure’
All seven libraries earmarked for closure appear to have been saved under new proposals put forward at the council.
Green Party councilor Gus Hoyt hailed the move as a major victory, following the extensive consultation which was extended due to overwhelming opposition to closure.
The new proposals were presented at a meeting of the Neighbourhood Scrutiny Commission at City Hall on Friday morning.
