A million pencils in Central Library artwork
At first glance it’s a normal room, just one with slightly flimsy walls.
Look more closely, however, at this room within the foyer at Bristol Central Library and you will notice that it’s made entirely out of pencils.
One million pencils to be precise that make up not just the walls but also a chair, table, lamp, telephone, and even the head and torso of a human figure.
is needed now More than ever
It reminded me most of a pin art toy that you can stick your face or hand in.
It’s called Penvolution and has been painstakingly made by Kerstin Schulz from Bristol’s twin city of Hannover.
Penvolution will be on display in the Central Library until the end of the year.
