An old statue, a new statue and tiny statues

It’s an exciting time for statue fans in Bristol.

In the centre, a temporary board around the infamous statue of Edward Colston has been embellished with the addition of posters calling Colston a human trafficker, kidnapper, murderer and slave trader.

Across town, a new statue sits on top of a derelict former petrol station near Temple Meads.

With an hourglass and a blindfold, it appears to signify the end of the world:

The mysterious statue is on Temple Gate next to the Holiday Inn

And on College Green, work is underway on the installation of Shrouds of the Somme, an art installation on display from November 11-18 commemorating the soldiers who fell on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
