Art classes and day workshops with Green Fox
Green Fox Workshops is run by Gemma Lane, an artist and a secondary school art teacher with over ten years’ experience. Gemma set up Green Fox workshops two years ago to bring affordable art classes to local communities, and to make art more accessible for everyone.
Gemma began the workshops in a Fishponds cafe, and she now runs regular evening art workshops at Lincombe Barn in Downend on Monday evenings throughout the year. “I have met some wonderful people running these classes,” Gemma enthuses. “All of my classes are suitable to beginners and intermediate: I want to engage and enthuse people to have more confidence in their abilities and to believe in themselves.”

Gemma has some exciting art day trips planned in both Bath and Bristol this year. She’s working with Tyntesfield National Trust to run a series of sketching tours: a great opportunity to sketch this beautiful estate at different times of the year, using a range of media and learning new techniques and skills.
is needed now More than ever
There are three tours to choose from (Spring, Summer and Autumn), each focusing on a different areas of the grounds. The Spring tour at Tyntesfield takes place on Tuesday, May 14 from 9.45am-3pm, and costs £45.
Gemma is also running a Plein Air painting tour in Bath on Saturday, June 29 (9.45am-3pm, £60), where you will learn how to create an observational study using watercolour paint. Gemma will go through a step-by-step method, demonstrating new techniques along the way. Lunch is included on all tours.

“The art tours are an opportunity to reconnect with your art side in beautiful settings,” Gemma explains. “They are wonderful experiences which help you to feel relaxed and connected to the world around you.
