Backhand: the group exhibition exploring the word ‘dreary’
Backhand is an exhibition at Centrespace Gallery & Studios – running from March 24-26 – that will showcase the work of 17 artists, all creating work around a randomly selected word.
And that word is: dreary.
Despite the connotations of the word, the weekend promises to be a lively and artistic celebration, and a unique way to experience art.
is needed now More than ever

The exhibition will also include illustration, design, sculpture, painting, drawing and more, with live music performances, carnival-style games and other entertainment laid on for visitors to enjoy.
“The whole idea of the event is to bring a group of creatives together and have fun,” organisers say.

“Bristol is an amazingly creative city and we want to make the most of it, bringing people together and making a community.
“Hopefully, this is the first of many such events. Expect some clever, humorous and down right dreary work.”
