Banksy goes back to school – in Whitchurch
A new Banksy mural has appeared on the side of Bridge Farm Primary School in Whitchurch, with the artist sending the school a letter saying “it’s always easier to get forgiveness than permission” as children return from half-term.
Banksy’s public relations manager confirmed to Bristol24/7 that the artwork is genuine on Monday morning.
The mural, showing a stick-man drawing of a child hoop trundling with a burning tyre, was painted after a seven-year-old pupil had a suggestion accepted to name one of the school’s houses Banksy.

In a letter revealed on the first day back to school, Banksy said: “Dear Bridge Farm School, thanks for your letter and naming a house after me.
“Please have a picture, and if you don’t like it, feel free to add stuff.
“I’m sure the teachers won’t mind. Remember, it’s always easier to get forgiveness than permission.
“Much love, Banksy.”
