Bricks announce open call for major public artwork for Temple Quarter’s Welcome Building
Bricks have announced an open call for “a new major public artwork” for the Welcome Building in Bristol’s fast-developing Temple Quarter.
The project has an attached budget of over £100k and an engagement budget of 5k. While the call is open to all artforms, any submissions must be guided by a set of commission principles.
“We are seeking proposals for a public artwork that will resonate with the bold new Welcome Building, which will occupy a prominent gateway site into the heart of Bristol,” they say.

Artists are especially encouraged to apply if they, or their practice, is based in the South West.
The deadline for expressions of interest is January 5, and February-August 2024 is the expected timeline for the work.
The deadline for public artwork proposals for the Welcome Building, Temple Quarter is January 5, 2024 at 10am.
