Bristol named UK’s most artistic city
Bristol has come out on top in a survey of the UK’s most artistic cities, conducted by Premier Inn.
The results were compiled by totting up how well cities represented the arts, using the number of art galleries and museums, the average weekly number of live music gigs, the number of theatres, and the quantity of street art as a mark of each city’s artistic credentials. An artistic index was then calculated to take into consideration the size of the city itself.
The resulting number-crunching placed Bristol at the top of the league table of the UK’s most artistic cities, followed by Brighton, Manchester, London and Aberdeen.
