Carnival theme for annual arts exhibition
A carnival theme has been chosen for an annual arts festival by artists with learning disabilities, mental health needs, dementia and those with complex behavioural needs.
The creative talents of the people supported by The Milestones Trust are on show at the Paintworks Events Space, with works ranging from paintings to poetry and food to films.
The event helps those taking part to build confidence, improve wellbeing, learn new skills, make new friends, and gain invaluable access to the arts world.
is needed now More than ever

The Milestones Trust exhibition is free to visit
At the launch of the festival, one of the artists, Joe, was beaming with joy as his film footage of a carnival parade is played.
He said: “What I love about this is that it doesn’t matter if you’ve got talent or if you’ve got no talent but if you prepare to participate and get involved, you can do anything.”
The Milestones Trust has been instrumental in his progress. He added: “With the right support I’ve gone from strength to strength. These community projects are a godsend.
“I’m now capable of doing things that Milestone has re-trained me, even the basics of cooking… I make the best Yorkshire puddings in the world!”
Carnival is free to visit at the Paintworks Event Space until Tuesday, June 27 June between 10am and 4pm daily. For more information, visit www.milestonestrust.org.uk/what-we-offer/expressions-arts-programme/
