Collaborative street art in solidarity with Palestine
The latest collaboration piece between two of Bristol’s best street artists is inspired by the title of a book of folk tales by Palestinian authors Sharif Kanaana and Ibrahim Muhawi.
Speak Bird, Speak Again by Acerone and Andy Council has been painted on a wall of a building in Greville Smyth Park.
It features two Palestine sunbirds, a species which in 2015 the Palestinian Authority adopted as their national bird.
is needed now More than ever
“This collaborative painting was made in solidarity with the people of Palestine, to honour the rich cultural heritage of a nation in crisis, and because we just wanted to try and do something,” wrote Acerone and Andy Council on Instagram.
They added: “Now go and read a folk tale from Palestine. You’ll be glad you did.”
