Creative lockdown: Mark Noble

By Lowie Trevena  Monday May 4, 2020

Mark Noble is part of the ongoing Bristol24/7 Creative Lockdown series, showcasing how people in Bristol have been getting arty under lockdown.

An artist based in Bristol has created a series of artworks in response to coronavirus.

Mark Noble, who re-trained as an artist after working in a plastics factory for nearly 20 years, is inspired by the works of Turner.

The artist, who is dyslexic and autistic, has exhibited works across the UK and Europe and runs a teaching and mentoring programme.

“I am myself working from home,” says Mark. “I’ve done a set of paintings showing us fighting the virus.”

The abstract paintings show the virus in an abstract style. Mark hopes the series will show how the pandemic is affecting art.
