Faces of Strangers
Last year, Chris Halls drew one different person every day.
To begin with it was simply a personal goal, but the simple task of sketching someone on a piece of paper has now evolved into an exhibition which is currently on display in Centrespace Gallery.
“I aim to revise how portraiture can be drawn by dissecting the elements that make it up, exploring how we perceive lines, shapes and tone and turn it into an illusion of a person,” Halls says.
is needed now More than ever
“It is also an exhibition of identity. Of hidden identity and how we are digitised and deconstructed through our ever-increasing obsession with capturing every detail of every moment of our lives.”
Faces of Strangers is at Centrespace Gallery until July 9. Visit www.centrespacegallery.com/exhibitions/faces-of-strangers/.
