Inkie repaints mural on Nelson Street 10 years later

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Apr 6, 2022

A mural that has appeared half-finished for almost a decade has been given a new lease of life.

The original mural by Inkie was one of the centrepiece works of the See No Evil street art festival back in 2012:

But only a few months after it was painted, an over-officious jet washer got to work, removing a large section of the piece before he was stopped:

Fast forward ten years and Inkie has returned to the same spot to repaint the work as well as adding some colourful new touches:

Inkie’s mural has been restored as part of the Everards Printworks development, which will soon also see a new set of steps opened connecting Nelson Street with Tower Lane.

Along Tower Lane there is also some new artwork but on a much smaller scale.
