New mural adds splash of colour to street
Even if you don’t know their name, you will most definitely recognise their distinctive style if you have wandered around Montpelier and its environs in recent years.
Lucas Antics – aka Alex Lucas and Paul Fearnside – are two of Bristol’s foremost mural artists, with their latest work adding a splash of colour to a street a stone’s throw from the M32.
The new mural sees a plant growing up the outside of a house in St Werburgh’s, with some bugs and even a pink bear joining in the fun.
is needed now More than ever
“We can Bear-ly contain our excitement..!” Lucas Antics wrote on Instagram when unveiling the new piece.
“The scaffold is finally down and we can now reveal this fantastical façade.
“Commissioned by super dreamy duo @toriewd and Ed who asked us to include a burly bear and some colourful shiny creatures from their back garden.”
“We can’t convey how much we loved painting this piece! Go take a peep if you are in St Werburgh’s.”
The mural can be found on Horley Road close to St Werburgh’s Community Centre.

The mural has been inspired by creatures from the house owners’ back garden (and a bear)
You don’t have to walk far to find more of Lucas Antics’ work.
Other entire house facades have become their canvas, as well as a recent work painted on nearby Mina Road in St Werburgh’s.

This mural on Picton Street has become a much-loved Montpelier landmark

Chaya Veggies commissioned Lucas Antics to paint this mural above their shop on Mina Road

It’s impossible to miss this house on York Road (but can you spot the mouse?)
